TAMASSA is pleased to announce the completion of extensive coastal improvement works resulting in a safe natural swimming area in the lagoon at Tamassa, and the rehabilitation of the beach into a signature cove.

The Bel Ombre lagoon is almost 600 m wide at Tamassa and a unique marine ecosystem, one of the most untouched and diverse in Mauritius. Its varied depth and natural conditions favour high diversity among coral (over 25 species), and countless species of colourful creatures. It is all within easy and safe reach for keen snorkelers, right outside the newly created swimming area in front of our resort, and particularly adapted to drift snorkelling.

The new natural pool, created by native rock breakwaters, is 40 metres wide by 100 metres long, has a separate child-friendly dipping pool and provides a safe swimming experience for our guests, whilst allowing friendly marine life to mingle freely with the swimmers, and easy access into the lagoon beyond for a fabulous snorkelling experience. The new configuration has allowed for a wider, naturally formed beach of soft, springy sand which is, without a doubt, the best in the Bel Ombre area.

The works were executed by Coastal Specialists Ltd. – a company recognized for its proven and innovative coastal design, research in Marine Biology, Marine Ecology, coastal dynamics and coastal processes. It is directed by Mr. Rajiv Bheeroo, a scientist with a flawless reputation in enhancing coastal and near shore environment whilst protecting, propagating and conserving the ecosystem. He has a great passion for the marine environment of Mauritius. 

Safe for all, considerate to the marine landscape and ecosystem and absolutely beautiful - we are delighted with the results of this project and are looking forward to sharing it with all our guests at Tamassa!

Weddings Weddings Weddings

Wow, 21:53 and I find the energy to write a blog! Kids in bed at 7pm, cleaned the house, ate chocolate, called my fabulous sister, considered going to bed and opened my laptop....

I woke up this morning and decided I was going to 'Think Positive' and tell myself I was going to have a brilliant day! I started cleaning up my living room with this thought in mind, and I came across a scratch card my mother must have bought last week. It hadn't been used so I did it and had this great feeling I was the winner of £1,000,000 ..... I grab a knife and start scratching away, with a really silly grin on my face, and I have 2 sets of matching symbols. By now I am doing cartwheels around my kitchen, I just cannot believe I have 2 matching symbols....I quickly find the terms and conditions and as the words stood out bright and bold, EVERY CARD HAS MATCHING SYMBOLS, PHONE TO FIND OUT WHAT YOU HAVE WON! I'm still trying to think positive whilst dialing the number and they go through every single symbol except mine...all boring prizes! No money yet! FINALLY, my symbols get mentioned, and I think this has to be it, I have to have the £1,000,000 there is no other prize, they have all been taken! Oh, but don't you worry, they found a prize for me....a tad different to £1,000,000 ..... a hair cut! A HAIR CUT! If there is nothing I despise more in this world, it's someone touching my hair!!! So that squashed my positive thoughts for the rest of the day ....

Saturday I am going to a wedding blessing in good old Stalbridge. Being a loyal customer to Ebay, I have ordered my dress even though it is yet to be delivered... it would be really nice if we could have some nice weather for Saturday, as I don't get to wear a dress very often....and I would like it for the happy couple too!

SCHOOL HOLIDAYS ARE SWARMING IN FAST! (or should I say SWIMMING in fast...)

6 weeks! 6 weeks! 6 weeks!
That's a whole lot of weeks to keep 2 children entertained in the RAIN! Now if I was an organised mother, I would have planned these holidays months ago, but I'm not organised, and so far I only have 1 day planned....Who has any bright ideas?

I did discover Hobby Craft and completely fell in love with it....my poor son has blisters on his fingers with the amount of things I have been getting him to make. We have now decided to draw Table Mountain on our Dining Room table and then mosaic it. This will more than likely go horribly wrong, as I cant draw even a stick man! But I can only try, plus I am hoping this will take exactly 6 weeks to complete and VOILA, school holidays sorted.



Oh look, my house looks clean, my daughter looks scared and my son thinks he's a super hero! love them! x

 Well this was just a quickie to let everyone know I have not gone completely Travel Sales mad, and I am still alive and kicking... I am now off to do all those motherly things you do when your kids are sleeping....mop, vaccuum, washing, ironing, dishes, polishing, work!
